Jan Spruijt studied Industrial Engineering & Management at Eindhoven University of Technology. After his studies, he worked as an innovation manager at various companies, including Brainport Development, BAM, and VodafoneZiggo. In 2012, he founded his own company, Innovative Dutch, through which he develops and markets academic simulation games worldwide.

Since 2010, Jan has been active in higher education. He started as a lecturer in Entrepreneurship & Innovation for the Bachelor's program in Business Innovation. Over the years, he has held various roles, including program coordinator, management team member, quality coordinator, program manager, and research associate. Through his roles as a program coordinator and as an external panel member for NQA, he has gained extensive experience with accreditation processes and review panels.

As of September 2024, Jan is working as an auditor at NQA and participates as a secretary in review panels.
